New order for Indorama in Nigeria

Indorama operates a Petrochemical and Fertilizer complex in Eleme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. It manufactures Polymers (Polyethylene and Polypropylene) and Fertilizers.
As a part of the expansion plan, the company intends to increase its urea production, among other things.
As part of the project, the company will set up a new port terminal at Onne, Nigeria, with all associated utilities to export Urea and Ammonia.
Bedeschi was chosen as the supplier for the design and supply of the entire system necessary for the reception, storage, and loading of urea at the new terminal at Onne Port.
The supply consists of:


Urea Intake:

  • Truck unloading station for simultaneous operation of four trucks
  • Conveying system from truck unloading station to urea storage employing belt conveyors, bucket elevator, and reversible shuttle conveyor.
  • Dedusting equipment
  • The system is designed with a rated capacity of 400T/h;

Outtake System:

  • Portal Scraper Reclaimer
  • Conveying system from Portal Scraper Reclaimer to the Shiploader by means of belt conveyors, tripper on gallery, and relative accessories
  • Shiploader slewing-luffing type on jetty
  • Dedusting Equipment
  • The system is designed with a rated capacity of 2.000T/h;

Engineering and technical support for local fabrication and erection of the complex.

The project was conceived and developed through a close collaboration between the two technical teams, Indorama and Bedeschi.
Thanks to the individual competencies and skills of all the technical specialists involved, the applied solutions represent the “State Of The Art” in terms of Bulk Fertilizer Handling Technologies, considering design, project organization, materials, components, and services provided by Bedeschi.
