Bedeschi is pleased to announce a new project for Meranti Green Steel, involving a complete Iron Ore Concentrate, Pellets, and HBI handling system.

The project includes the state-of-the-art material handling plant serving the production of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) at Meranti Green Steel’s facility in the Port of Duqm, Oman.

DRI and HBI are premium-quality raw materials essential for the production of green steel. Compared to conventional steelmaking processes, green steel production is significantly more energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable, as it replaces coal-based energy sources with cleaner alternatives, resulting in a substantial reduction in carbon emissions.

This project represents another important milestone in supporting the global transition toward sustainable steel production. Leveraging more than a century of experience in bulk material handling and a tailor-made engineering approach, Bedeschi is proud to contribute to the advancement of green steel and the broader green energy transition worldwide.
